The following bills returned from the Council with amendments, were taken up, and the amendments thereto concurred in, viz: No. 5. "A bill to attach the county of Portage to the county of Dane."

No. 11. "A bill to organize the county of Washington and for other purposes."

Ordered, That the Council be acquainted therewith.

The undermentioned resolutions and bill from the Council were read the first and second time, viz :

No. 2. Resolution to amend a resolution concerning the settlement of the accounts of the late acting commissioner."

No. 5. "Resolutions calling on the Secretary of the Treasury of the U. States for information relative to appropriations made by Congress for the use of the Legislative Assembly."

No. 10. "A bill concerning the Supreme court."

The House then resolved itself into committee of the whole on said resolutions and bill, Mr. Conroe in the chair, and after a short time the committee rose, and reported the same to the House without amendment.

The said resolutions and bill were severally ordered to a third reading.

On the question of ordering resolution No. 2 to a third reading, the ayes and noes were called and were as follows:

Ayes-Messrs. Beardsley, Bracken, Brunson, Childs, Conroe, Craig, Cruson, Hoyt, McGregor, Newman, Shew, Stevens, Story, Sutherland, and Dewey, speaker.
