WEDNESDAY, Jan. 11, 1837.

The House met pursuant to adjournmet a quorum being present, the journal of yesterday's proceedings was read. Stephen D. Fernandez, the member elect from Nassau County, appeared in the House, and on motion of Mr. Levy, was sworn and admitted to a seat.

The President laid before the Legislative Council a report from the Auditor.

Also a report from the Treasurer.

Which reports were read, and on motion of Mr. Long were with the accompanying exhibits referred to the committee on Finance; and it is further ordered that two hundred copies of each be printed.

A bill entitled an Act to change the county seat and place of holding the Superior and County Courts of the county of Franklin, and for other purposes, was taken from the order of the day and read a second time.

On motion of Mr. Wood, it is ordered that said bill be referred to a select committee. Messrs. Wood, Read, Marvin, Wright, and Long were appointed on that committee.

A bill entitled an Act to authorise Mary W. Nuttall to sell so much of the rea! and personal estate of the late Wm. B. Nuttall, as she may deem necessary to pay the debts of said estate, was read a second time, and on motion of Mr. Downing was ordered to be referred to the Judiciary Committee.

The House then adjourned until to-morrow morning at 11. o'clock.

THURSDAY, Jan. 12, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment, a quorum being present the journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

Robt. Brown Esq., the member elect from Columbia County, appeared, and on motion of Mr. Levy, was qualified and admitted to a seat.

Mr. Stewart gave notice that he will on some future day ask leave to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend the several Acts of this Territory in relation to roads and highways.

On motion of Mr. Levy, ordered, that Mr. Fernandez be added to the standing committees on the Militia, Claims, Agriculture, and Enrolled Bills. Also that Mr. Brown be added to the standing committees on Finance, on Banks and the State of the Territory, and on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Johnson, pursuant to previous notice asked and ob

tained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act therein named, which was read and ordered to be read again on tomorrow.

Mr. Read gave notice that he will on tomorrow or next day introduce a bill in relation to the Florida peninsula and Jacksonville and the Union Rail Road Companies.

Mr. Long, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act concerning estrays; which was read and ordered to be read a second time tomorrow.

Mr. Hart, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act to provide for appeals and writs of error in criminal cases; which was read and ordered for a second reading tomorrow.

A bill entitled an Act to regulate the term of service and the fees of Judges of the County Courts and Notaries Public in this Territory, was taken from the orders of the day and read a second time, when on motion the House went into committee of the whole thereon; after sometime spent in consideration of said bill, the committee rose, and Mr. Macon Chairman therefrom, reported said bill to the House with the enacting clause stricken out; which report was concurred in by the House and said bill is lost.

A bill entitled an Act to establish a Superior Court in the County of Dade in the Southern District of Florida, was read a second time, and on motion of Mr. Marvin ordered to be referred to the Judiciary Committee.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an Act respecting the hostile negroes and mulattoes in the Seminole Nation was read a second time, and on motion of Mr. Levy referred to the committee of the whole House; the House went into committee thereon and after some tims spent in consideration thereof, the committee rose, and Mr. Johnson chairman therefrom reported said bill to the House amended; which report was agreed to, and on motion of Mr. Fitzpatrick the rule of the House was waived and said Bill was read the second and third time, and passed; ordered that the title be as before stated.

The House then adjourned until tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock,

FRIDAY, Jan. 13, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the journal of yesterday's proceedings was read. Mr. Long gave notice that he will on some future day, in

troduce a bill to release the citizens of the several counties lying east of the Suawance River from the payment of taxes due for the fiscal year 1836, and to exempt them from paying taxes for the year 1837.

Also, that on to-morrow he will move for the appointment of a committee, to prepare and report a bill to raise a Revenue for the support of the Government for the year 1837.

Mr. Long asked and obtained leave, to introduce without previous notice, (the rule being waived for that purpose) Bill entitled an Act to prescribe the mode of appointing Judges of the County Courts, and for other purposes--which was read, and ordered to be read a second time on to-morrow.

Mr. Levy gave notice, that he will on to-morrow ask leave to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of the inhabitants of East Florida.

Also, a bill to be entitled an Act to amend, and in addition to an Act, entitled an Act to incorporate the St. Augustine and Picolata Rail Road Company.

Mr. Hart gave notice that he will on some future day ask leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, to incorporate the town of Jacksonville.

Mr. Hart moved that the petition of Mary Falana, be tak-. en from the table and read-which was done; and on his motion referred to a select committee. Messrs. Hart, Williams and Robinson were appointed thereon.

Mr. Wright offered a Resolution, concerning the furnishing the Council with Newspapers; which was read and laid on the table until to-morrow.

Mr. Fitzpatrick offered a resolution concerning the Printing of certain acts of Congress; which was laid on the table, and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Levy offered a resolution concerning the compilation of the Statutes of the Territory; which was read and laid on the table.

Mr. Fontane from the committee on enrollments, reported as correctly enrolled, an Act to repeal an Act, entitled an Act respecting the hostile Negroes and Mullatoes in the Seminole Nation, which was signed by the President.

Mr. Wood from the select committee to whom the same had been referred, reported a bill, entitled an Act to change the county seat, and place of holding the county courts of the county of Franklin, with amendments, which report was concurred in by the House; and said bill was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading on to-mor

row.

Mr. Wood from the select committee, appointed to prepare a remonstrance to Congress in conformity with a resolution adopted on a former day, reported a Remonstrancewhich was read, and on motion of Mr. Long it is ordered that a hundred copies of the same be printed for the use of this House, under the superintendance of the select committee, who made the Report.

A bill entitled an Act, to repeal an Act, therein mentioned, was read a second time, and referred to the committee on Finance.

A bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, concerning estrays, was read a second time and referred to the Judiciary committee.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act, to provide for appeals and writs of error, in criminal cases, was read a second time, and referred to the Judiciary committee.

The House then adjourned until to-morrow at eleven o'clock, A. M.

SATURDAY, Jan. 14, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment a quorum being present the journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

The President laid before the House a communication from the President and directors of the Union Bank of Florida ; which was read and referred to the committee on Banks.

Mr. Marvin gave notice that he will on some future day ask leave to introduce a bill to aid the administration of justice in Monroe County.

Mr. Read, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act in relation to the Florida Peninsula and Jacksonville and the Union Rail Road Companies; which was read and ordered to be again read on Monday next.

Mr. Read offered a resolution by way of amendment to the rules of the House, which was read and laid on the table till Monday next.

Mr. Marvin presented the petition of Eliza Patterson, praying for a divorce, alimony and other relief, and moved for the reading of the same, which being objected to by Mr. Fitzpatrick, the yeas and nays were required on said motion by Messrs. Marvin and Long, and were-yeas, Messrs. Brown, Campbell, Fernandez, Fontane, Gilleland, Hart, Johnson, Kenan, Long, Marvin, McNeill, Shehee, Tabor, Williams and Wright, 15-nays, Mr. President, Messrs Bryan, Downing, Fitzpatrick, Levy, Read, Robinson and Wood,

8--So the motion prevailed, and on motion of Mr. Fitzpat rick it is ordered that said petition lie on the table until the first day of April next.

Mr. Read from the select committee to whom was referred bill entitled an Act to indemnify the people of Florida for losses sustained during present difficulties with the Seminole Indians, reported said bill with amendments; which report was concurred in and said bill is ordered for a second reading on Monday next.

The House then adjourned until Monday next at twelve o'clock.

MONDAY, Jan. 16, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment, a quorum being present, the journal of last Saturday's proceedings was read. Mr. President laid before the Council a report of the Treasurer of Florida on the subject of school lands; which was read, and with accompanying exhibits, referred to the Committee on the state of the Territory.

Mr. Long, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act for the relief of the inhabitants of East Florida; which was read, and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Read gave notice that he will on some future day, ask leave to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend the militia laws of the Territory of Florida.

Mr. Read asked and obtained leave to introduce without previous notice, the rule for that purpose being waived, a bill to be entitled an Act to revive an Act passed 1st. February 1832 and for other purposes, which was read by its title and ordered for a second reading on. to-morrow.

Mr. Levy, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an act to amend and in addition to an Act to incorporate the St. Augustine and Picolatta Rail Road Company; which was read and ordered to be read again on to-morrow.

On motion of Mr. Long, it is ordered, that the Finance Committee be directed to report a bill to raise a Revenue for the support of the Government for the Fiscal year 1837.

Mr. Hart, pursuant to previous notice asked, and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, to incorporate the Town of Jacksonville, which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.
