In the Matter of the Investigation of Charges against Hon. Selah B. Strong, a Supreme Court Justice.

NASSAU COUNTY COURT-HOUSE.

MINEOLA, N. Y., MAY 15, 1922.

The hearing was called to order at 11:00 o'clock a. m. by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Edmund B. Jenks.

PRESENT:

Hon. Edmund B. Jenks, Chairman; Hon. Walter W. Westall, Vice-Chairman and Secretary; Hon. George H. Rowe, Hon. George N. Jesse, Hon. Maurice Bloch, Hon. Joseph V. McKee, Hon. Harry W. Haines, Sergeant-at-arms.

ABSENT:

Hon. Ernest E. Cole.

Appearances:

For the Committee: Harry C Perkins, Esq.; for Judge Strong: Edgar T. Bracket, Stanchfield & Levy (Mr. Brackett present), Edward Schoeneck, Esq., Percy L. Housel, Esq.

The Chairman.- This matter of the investigation of certain charges against Justice Selah B. Strong is now before us. Harry C. Perkins, Esq., appears as counsel for the Committee. Are there any appearances for the Nassau County Bar Association?

George M. Bode.- The Nassau Couty Bar Association is represented by its investigating committee consisting of George M. Bode, Chairman, Mr. Charles N. Wysong and James M. Gehrig. The Bar Association has not, up to the present time, retained any counsel, awaiting the announcement of the rules of procedure of the Committee and awaiting the desires of the Committee in the matter.

The Chairman.- We will consider as read into the record, the charges and the resolution providing for the appointment of the Committee.
