In pursuance of the provisions of the Constitution and the Laws of the State of Vermout, the members of the House of Representatives convened in the State House in Montpelier, on the first Wednesday, being the second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight. At ten o'clock in the forenoon, Hou. George Nichols, Secretary of State, called the House to order, when Devotional exercises were conducted by Rev. H. P. Cushing of Burke.
