Pursuant to the requirements of the constitution, the members-elect of the House of Representatives of the State of Michigan for the years 1907 and 1908 assembled in Representative Hall in the Capitol at Lan. sing, on the first Wednesday in January, the second day of January, 1907, and, in accordance with the law, were called to order by Charles S. Pierce, Clerk of the preceding House.

Religious exercises were conducted by Rev. Frank G. Ward, of the Plymouth Congregational Church of Lansing.

The following communication from the Secretary of State was read:
